Public PV Installations
The appeal of public PV installations is becoming increasingly appealing to councils and their contractors. Public PV represents a long-term investment that, once installed, has no additional running costs and requires minimal maintenance. The introduction of Feed In Tariffs also means that public sector buildings like schools, hospitals and even council offices can generate additional income through the sale of excess generated electricity back to the power companies as an export tariff.
For smaller premises, all solar PV systems under 5MW can reap the same benefits by receiving money for the power they produce, even if it is all used by the premises internally. This represents a considerable return on the initial investment of installing solar panels.
